Giving

Giving is something that members of The Peoples Church do as part of our worship, our commitment to God’s people and as a way of supporting the Church and it’s mission.

Regular Giving

If you would like to give regularly, please do get in touch with us or speak to a member of our team on a Sunday morning.

Tax-efficient Giving

  • If you are a UK taxpayer (Income or Capital Gains Tax) then you can make donations tax efficiently.
  • Completing a Gift Aid Declaration form allows us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you give in a tax year (April 6th to April 5th).
  • Your donations qualify for Gift Aid provided that they are not more than 4 times the amount of tax you have paid in a tax year.
  • For this you will need to complete a Tax Declaration Form, which is available from the Church office.

One-off Gift

If you want to gift a one-off donation, there are two ways you can do so.

  • If you are at Church on a Sunday morning, collection bags will passed around during Worship. You can simply put in your offering to one of these bags and it will go into the offering.
  • If you are unable to give on a Sunday morning but would still like to contribute, you can make a one-off donation at the following account below:

Account name: The Peoples Church

Bank: Santander

Sort Code: 09-01-29

Account number: 10934131

Reasons for Giving

If you are new to Church, it might not be clear why we as a Church give, and the importance of giving. One of the ways of giving is known as Tithing and is detailed as follows:

  • Tithing involves giving away the first 10% of our income.
  • In the Bible the tithe was given at the place of worship, and so many Churches today encourage members of their Church family to tithe to Church.
  • In the Bible, tithing was done not only as a mark of gratitude for the past but also as a way of trusting in God for the future.
  • Committing and planning to give the first 10% of our income is a test of our faith; that is why money management and planning are both important.
  • Bible passages related to tithing promise that God will provide more than enough in response to our tithe.
  • God understands that some of us may find the initial thought of giving 10% potentially uncomfortable – that is why one of the key passages on tithing in the Bible includes the unusual promise that God does not mind us putting him to the test, to see if the blessing we receive back will be as good as he says! (see Malachi 3:10).
